Bernardsville

WOODEDGE, WHICH DATES TO 1900 and built for William Stone Post, the son of George Post, is one of 4 residences in Bernardsville designed by the firm of George B. Post & Sons.

This project consisted of the wholesale restoration and selective in-fill additions to this Historic Residence. With the legacy of this property in mind, the exterior was restored, leaving the primary focus of the project on the interiors. In order to better accommodate the requirements of the Client, the interior layout was reorganized, with infill additions introduced at the rear of the structure, creating a new Family room adjacent to a new kitchen, and a paneled study near the existing living room. Period trim, finishes and millwork were salvaged or re-created in order to better blend the original work with the new. Megan Young provided a deft design, creating beautifully updated interiors that enhance the original.
