WE ARE INVOLVED IN AN ONGOING COMPREHENSIVE RESTORATION and renovation to the 1914-18 Colonial Revival and French Eclectic style mansion designed by three notable American Architecture firms; Ernest Flagg, McKim Meade & White, and Aymar Embury.
This particular project consists of the removal of a 'Post-Modern' media room, to create a new wood paneled library for the client. Inspired by a paneled library designed by Frances Adler Elkins and David Adler, the space better suits the historic pedigree of the residence.
New features include alder wood paneling with roundels, parquet flooring, an antique carved Marble fireplace surround, custom fabricated bookcases, and vaulted ceiling with concealed lighting. Care was taken to provide scale and proportion for an inspired space.
