Greek Revival Farmhouse

Peapack

THIS PROJECT CONSISTS OF the wholesale restoration and addition to an 1850 Greek Revival home in Peapack, New Jersey. The existing home was completely ‘gutted’ to the timber frame. Original materials were selectively stored and reclaimed, with existing wide plank pine flooring, fireplace surrounds, stair rails, balusters, and exterior columns re-used and/or referred to as templates for the new construction.

While the existing building envelope was preserved, the interior was reorganized to accommodate the modern requirements of the client. A 1,600 s.f. addition was introduced to the rear of the existing structure, providing additional program space, while seamlessly blending the old with the new.

Period appropriate trim, consisting of base, casing and crown moldings have been replicated in order to match those found in the original home. The existing local sandstone foundation material was used throughout the restoration and addition.
