A NEW COLONIAL REVIVAL FARMHOUSE in Harding Township, New Jersey.
The primary focus of this project was to develop a new 7,000-square-foot Colonial Revival Farmhouse while minimizing its impact on the neighborhood. In an effort to reduce the project scale and massing, various elements were introduced, consisting of a large offset cross gable, porches, and single-story components such as a sunroom and an intimate breakfast room.
The initial view of the home is designed to be humble and welcoming. Attached to the primary residence, the ‘ell’ addition contains a family room, mud room, and garage to lessen the perceived scale. The notable space invites the homeowners to host friends and family for any occasion. The home remains a modest fit into the surrounding landscape.
